When the Slide-A-Note becomes an active part of the student’s early music notation experiences, the student’s progress in sight reading skills will accelerate rapidly. Here is why!
1. The design of the front side of the Slide-A-Note quickly illustrates, to the student, the correlation of the letter names of the lines and spaces of the grand staff to those same letter names of keys along the piano keyboard.
2. On the back side of the Slide-A-Note there are two pictures illustrating the symmetry of the lines and spaces of the grand staff. The student’s awareness of this symmetry will quicken
the students ability to memorize all letter names of the grand staff---thus enhancing the student’s sight reading skills.
3. Also on the back side is a suggested word spelling game activity; this activity is also intended to accelerate the student’s note reading skills.
